WHO WE ARE

Smartodont is a spin-off from ETH Zurich and Center of Dental Medicine, University of Zurich.
We combine the expert know-how from two fields: engineering science and dental medicine.
This special combination enables fast investigation of novel materials in dental applications and assessment of these ideas for new products by dentists.
Hence, Smartodont aims to partner with established dental companies to develop and launch new groundbreaking dental products.

Smartodont’s mission is devoted to provide dentists with novel products to improve the outcome of dental treatments.

We are the proud manufacturers of RepliDens. RepliDens are 3D-printed teeth with a unique finish – unlike anything else on the market.

The teeth in this portfolio represent true anatomy. They are manufactured from corresponding real-tooth micro-computed tomography scans. We have access to one of the world’s largest collection of dental micro-tomographies.

Development

Smartodont develops novel materials for improved dental treatments and for simplified chairside procedures. Our main focus is on the incorporation of active particles into existing dental polymer matrixes.

Endodontics

Root canal treatments save teeth. More root canal treatments are performed each year. Our aim is to initiate the age of smart materials in endodontics. These materials are tailored for the specific microenvironment of the pulp space.
